Advanced administrative & technical training resources are focused on providing patrons with seamless inter-operability of your eHLbc resources through the use of LinkResolvers, Title Collections & Custom Links, Inter-Library Loan form customisation and A-to-Z Journal Title look-ups. Available options vary by vendor.

Advanced (Optional) Administrative & Technical Training Topics:

Local Collections - Use Local Collections to customise your database results (EG. Limit results to your local collection).
Custom Links - Add Custom Links to your additional resources (EG. Open-Source databases & Citation software).
OpenURL and LinkResolvers - Add a Linkresolver to seamlessly connect your resources (EG. EBSCO LinkSource).
A-to-Z Lists - Provide an A-to-Z title look-up for your patrons (EG. EBSCO A-to-Z ).
MARC Records and Title Lists - Import & Export MARC records & title lists from your databases (EG. Upload MARC records to your ILS).
Custom URLs and JumpStarts - Create custom URLs to direct patrons to specific resources & interfaces (EG. Direct to particular databases & journal titles).
Personal Accounts - Create, manage and report on your patron personal accounts (EG. Set expiry dates for personal accounts).
Inter-Library Loan Forms - Customise ILL forms within the databases.
RSS Feeds - Enable RSS feeds and alerts for use by your patrons or web pages (EG. Create a RSS search alert).
Google Scholar - Enable display of your resources in Google Scholar for on and off-site access by your users.

1. Local Collections
EBSCO (EG. The use of local title lists as search limiters, authority files, include/exclude collection types, CustomLinks or LinkSource filters)	Local Collections - Upload a Local Collection of titles held at your Organisation as tab-delimited or MARC files (maxium file size 4MB). Local Collections FAQ & How-To-Create Tutorial (Flash or Powerpoint). Add New Titles - Browse your collections in EbscoAdmin & add a new title or upload multiple new titles. Include/Exclude Collection Types - Exclude certain titles from search results. Custom Messages - Local collections allow messages to be attached to search results to indicate whether or not the title is held in your collections. Authority File - Use Local Collection(s) as an Authority File. Limit to Local Collections - Limit search results in EbscoAdmin to a Local Collection only (EG. Print titles in the library).
OVID (EG. The use of local title lists as search limiters, authority files, include/exclude collection types, CustomLinks or LinkSource filters)	General - We recommend you contact OVID directly when creating Custom Links, Local Collections & LinkResolvers. Local Holdings - From your OVID Admin you can choose the Online JCodes option display custom messages (EG. Owned by library) and mark journals locally held and add/edit journal messages. Custom Messages - From your OVID Admin you can choose to create custom messages displayed on individual records/titles (EG. Owned by library). You can also create default messages that appear on all titles or add custom messages for groups of titles as well as edit/delete messages. Troubleshooting - Why can't I see my custom messages? Contact e-HLbc OR Ovid Technical Support for trouble-shooting and assistance.

Links to open-source resources or other article databases; Citation Software; Library Catalogue)	Custom Resource Links - Set-Up custom links to a variety of resources including free & subscription databases, OPACs, ILL systems, search engines & more. Subscription Custom Resource Links - Set-up custom resource links to subscription resources EG. JSTOR and many more. Free Custom Resource Links - EG. PubMed, Amazon.com, HighWire Press - Free Access Journals and many more. Library Catalogue Links - Link to your OPAC/ILS with a custom link.
OVID (EG. Links to open-source resources or other article databases; Citation Software; Library Catalogue)	General - We recommend you contact OVID directly when creating Custom Links, Local Collections & LinkResolvers. LinkResolvers - LinkResolvers can be added in the OVID Admin Tools --> LinkSolver(tm) section. EBSCO A-to-Z - The EBSCO A-to-Z organises all your resources including e-journals, full-text titles and e-books in one location. Have EBSCO A-to-Z already? Login to your EBSCO A-to-Z Admin and check-out the Administrator's guide. CUFTS - CUFTS is an open source serials management knowledgebase. OVID Resources A-Z - Resources A-Z is a component of OVID LinkSolver that enables users to browse and search their organization's e-journal and e-book collections. Previously called Journals A-Z.

EBSCO (EG. Exporting; Formats; ILS Uploading; Collection Management)	MARC Records - Download EBSCOHost MARC records for import into your OPAC/ILS or other resources. MARC Records Merged Monthly - Customised MARC records for mutliple databases can be sent by email monthly for import into an ILS/OPAC. eBooks - Request custom EBSCO eBook MARC records from Technical Support. Title Lists - EBSCOHost Database title lists can be found in EBSCOAdmin and are available in MARC21, HTML or Tab-Delimited format. How do I download MARC Title Lists from EBSCOAdmin?

Canadian Health Research Collection (ebrary) (EG. Exporting MARC Records)	ebrary Partner Site - Canadian Health Research Collection (CHRC) subscribers via the Canadian Electronic Library (CEL) have access to updated MARC records through the ebrary Partner Site under Get MARC Records. 6. Custom URLs and JumpStarts
EBSCO (EG. How-To use and create embedded URLs to direct to particular interfaces, groups, profiles, databases and titles)	Custom URLs - Custom URL parameters can be used to construct permanent links that direct users to a variety of resources and searches including specific databases, profiles, interfaces, journal titles articles and many more. Get Started - Get started with the most commonly used custom URLs using the eHLbc URLs and JumpStarts Guide. Database Short Names - Direct users to a particular EBSCO database using the Database Short Name List (Product Codes). Interfaces - Direct users to a particular EBSCO interface. Persistent Links - Correct persistent link syntax and how do persistent links authenticate. How do I turn-off persistent links from showing? Journal Titles - Pre-constructed persistent links to journal titles are available from your database title list downloads. Articles - You can save or email persistent direct links to articles via the EBSCOHost interface. Set-up a default profile to access persistent links from EBSCOAdmin login. eBooks or Audiobooks - Link directly to the EBSCOHost eBook or Audiobook collections. Custom Searches - Use the EBSCO Search Box Builder to create custom searches to EBSCO resources.

Check-out the OVID Administrator Jumpstart guide for additional information. Get Started - Get started with the most commonly used custom URLs using the eHLbc URLs and JumpStarts Guide. Database Short Names - Direct users to a particular OVID database using the OVID Database Shortnames. Ovid Jumpstart Utility - Use the Ovid Jumpstart Utility to create custom jumpstarts to Journals@Ovid, ATHENS Journals@OVid & Books@Ovid. Custom Searches - Create a jumpstart URL for a search statement.

7. Creating and Editing Personal Accounts
EBSCO	Personal Accounts - Enable Personal User Authentication Accounts in EBSCOAdmin to allow users to create personal user accounts and access their My EBSCOHost folder. Settings - Edit the settings on a personal user account including the email address, user group or profile. Patron Assistance - How to create a My EBSCOHost account?
OVID	Personal Accounts - Contact Ovid Technical Support to enable personal accounts in OvidSP. Settings - By default personal accounts are set to not expire but you can edit the default expiry in OVID Admin.

8. Inter-Library Loan Forms
EBSCO (EG. Customising ILL forms available within the databases)	Inter-Library Loan Forms - Create an Inter-Library Loan Form in EBSCOAdmin. Request a customised ILL form from EBSCO. Inter-Library Loan (ILL) Statistics - How to report on the number of ILL requests generated by patrons within EBSCOHost (does not break down by database).

9. RSS Feeds
EBSCO (EG. RSS Alerts for your web site)	RSS Feeds - EBSCO provides a variety of communications via RSS feeds for these compatible RSS Readers. One-Step Alerts - What are One Step RSS Search & Journal Alerts? One Step RSS Search Alert (Help Sheet) and One Step RSS Journal Alert (Help Sheet). Create a RSS Search alert from within EBSCO. Do they expire? RSS Proxy Authentication - The proxy portion of your URL is not appended to the link for the RSS feed but you can activate your proxy for direct article links published on the feed. A-to-Z - You can assign a RSS feed to a journal title in your EBSCO A-to-Z Title List. Existing Alerts - Add RSS to an existing EBSCO alert.
